Old Market Square and the Billy Goats

The Old Market Square is a unique and... ideal place. At least in the geometric sense. On a square with a side of 141 m you will be amazed by the tenement houses and meet the famous Poznań goats on the town hall tower.

The Old Market Square has been the living heart of the city since 1253. There is probably no tourist who would miss this unique place. This is where you can find the most beautiful tenement houses, a lot of museums and attractions, as well as popular restaurants. However, there is only one king of the Old Market Square. It is the 16th century town hall, probably the most beautiful Renaissance building north of the Alps. Every day at noon, the famous two billy goats appear on its tower, butting each other 12 times.

Right next to it is a row of picturesque Budnicze Houses. This is one of the most photographed places in Poznań 👉 #VisitPoznan

Poznań Cathedral and Bishop Jordan Bridge

This is the oldest cathedral in Poland, whose history dates back to the 10th century and the beginnings of the Polish state. Here you will find the burial place of the first rulers of Poland - Mieszko I and his son Bolesław Chrobry, as well as mysterious underground. The bridge on Cybin existed in this place already in the times of Mieszko I. Over the centuries, successive wooden and iron structures were built, until finally the crossing in this place was abandoned in favor of a new expressway. In 2007, after a long break, Ostrów Tumski and Śródka were reconnected. The span of the former St. Roch Bridge was used to build the bridge. Its transport along the riverbed to its current location and transfer over the neighboring Mieszko I bridge - was an extraordinary engineering undertaking. The bridge commemorates the first Polish bishop, who had his seat in Poznań.
