Poznań isn’t just a place of tourist attractions, it’s also an important place of cultural events. We can find numerous theatres, cinemas and cultural centres with a rich repertoire here. Apart from that, there are plenty of original art galleries and interesting museums.

The Stanisław Moniuszko Opera House in Poznań

The Stanisław Moniuszko Opera House in Poznań, with over a century-old history, has considerably expanded its repertoire and has become a household name as an institution that boldly reaches for modern scene adaptations and acts as a patron for young creators. The Opera House in Poznań is a part of the OperaVision project, the objective of which is sharing plays on a streaming platform. Each year, the Opera receives many awards. The dynamic development of the Opera House results from various actions motivated by the mission undertaken by the Poznań theatre community: to reach spectators from various social groups and to familiarise spectators with the characteristics of theatre. 👉 #VisitPoznan

Polish Theatre

The oldest theatre in Poland, operating continuously since 1875.Poznań's Polish Theatre is one of Poland's oldest playhouses, in continuous operation since 1875. Its construction was financed with contributions from Poles living under partitions, as commemorated in its façade inscription "the nation unto itself". The building's design by Stanisław Hebanowski shows inspirations by Italian Renaissance. The theatre's stage has been graced by the likes of Helena Modrzejewska, Gabriela Zapolska, Stefan Jaracz, and Władysław Hańcza. The building survived World War II and reopened in March 1945. The institution it houses is committed to promoting the common good and closely adhering to its motto "the nation unto itself". It relies on a permanent troupe of actors who regularly stage large productions that are based on quality literature. 👉 #VisitPoznan
